Full Job Description: 

A leading payment solutions company based in Claremont, Cape Town, Western Cape is looking to hire an HR Intern on a 12 months fixed term contract. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating all HR related administration activities. The position reports to the HR Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the department complies to the POPI Act by maintaing employee files with confidentiaility;
  • Assist with the maintenance and integrity of employee Master Data on the HR information system;
  • Assist with data collection and capturing - Skills Development and Employment Equity Statutory Reports;
  • Assist with administration relating to Employee Benefits, Relations and HR Policies;
  • Coordinate Company Wellness Days, and CSI Initiatives;
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including induction of new employees and employee files as per the new engagement checklist;
  • Coordinate all administration activities relating to payroll processing;
  • Assist internal customers and stakeholders as and when required;
  • Assist with general administration activities - take accurate telephone messages, minutes of meetings and ordering of stationery etc;
  • Any other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Skills Required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources/ Industrial Psychology;
  • Understanding of labour legislation - BCEA, LRA, SDA and OHSA;
  • Understanding of HR management functions;
  • Computer literate in MS Office;
  • Confident and articulate communicator in English;
  • Deadline and customer service driven;
  • Team player and also able to work independently.
